桜や紅葉の季節を中心に各国から訪れた拝観客で賑わう三門前の参道を高校生たちが息きらせながら元気にﾗﾝﾆﾝｸﾞしている姿は､古来より京都を代表する名刹として知られる南禅寺の日常風景ともなっている｡
あの高校授業料無償化は民主党(現・立憲民主党)政権でなければ到底不可能だった｡
此の政策が極めて効果的に貧困家庭の子供たちの進学率向上に寄与した事実は今さら言うまでもないであろう｡
毎年かわらず学生たちの新たな船出を暖かく見守り続けてきた南禅寺の満開の桜の輝きは私の目に嘗ての民主党政権と重なって見える｡
やはり民主党しかない｡
2018年晩秋の夕刻に私は天寿庵の紅葉を愛でた後すっかり陽も暮れ人が消えた南禅寺三門下から参道を眺め恐らくは隣の高校の前を通り永観堂へ向かうであろう夥しい人の流れを望洋と見つめながら改めてそう確信した次第である｡
