I've not lived in those cities yet but visited all of the cities you mentioned above.
Today I went to Daiso and got seeds of green soybean aka edamame in Japanese and aunt perilla aka shiso in Japanese. 2 packs for 108 yen only.
I just finished planting the seeds of edamame and so excited to see the growing process!

This festival is a Japanese thing or not? I'm curious because I heard so many Koreans living in Kawasaki before
