I'll add that the importance of 4chan (for we, westerner) somewhat proves that the internet
anonymous culture has a potential. There's no 2chan/Futaba like site in
France though...
But it's very popular in Russia ( http://2-ch.ru/ ), Finland ( lauta.net/ ), etc.
Except for 4chan (which is american), there is not such an importance as in Japan in Europe for anonymous based BBS/Forum.
It has a great potential, in my opinion. So facebook does not mean death for us all.
